July 4th is my favorite holiday! It is the holiday with the least pressure and still holds so much meaning. Now, when i say July 4th is my favorite holiday, I am referring to the reaction it has on people….Christmas and Easter significance by far out weights that of July 4th for me, but people have corrupted the days as far as I am concerned.
With July 4th, there is not pressure to spend time with people you avoid the rest of the year. You aren’t trying to impress in-laws with dishes you can’t cook or pressured to buy gifts for people you hardly know because “they got you something.” All you have to do is get together with the people you normally spend time with, throw some food on the grill, enjoy the freedom of America and all the joy that comes with it and remember the sacrifice and courage that paid for it…God Bless the USA!
Every time I hear Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA, I cry.
I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today…Gladly.
