Taking your life seriously means taking all aspects of it with pride, the inside and the outside. An education and what you know is very important, it will keep you in the door, but what gets you through the door is who you know AND what you look like, not just on paper. The visual presentation is an outward display of the pride you take in presentation. If you don’t take pride in the way you look, why would an employer invest in taking the chance you will show the same indifference to your work?

We aren’t talking about looking like a model, or having a body like a swimwear model. We are just talking about taking pride in what you present to the world. The first impression is all you have to make a statement. Unless you never meet your employer and work from a remote location, the way you look makes a difference. Two equally qualified applicants applying for the same position will no longer be equally qualified when one of them has physically taken not pride in their appearance.

Taking pride in your appearance doesn’t need to be another job. It means making some better nutrition choices. You don’t need to have a strict diet or be a certain size, but there are few and far between people in the top of any industry that disregard their outward appearance.

There is a grave difference between slaving in the gym and slaving at the buffet. Finding a balance where you lifestyle reflects your ability and not apathy. In an economy like the one we are wading through, employers are looking at everything. Don’t lose the job for reasons that have nothing to do with your aptitude.

There are plenty of people who will help if you don’t know where to start or how to make the first step. You can email me, and if I can’t help you directly, I can point you in the right direction!
